Reporting to: Consultant, Design

The Associate, Design will assist the Marketing and Communications team in conceptualising and designing the Teach For India brand through digital marketing and print collaterals. This position is an opportunity for young individuals to get a holistic sense of the powerful role that design plays in communication strategy and garner exposure to a wide array of differentiated design projects.

Responsibilities

As an Associate, Design:

• Creating digital and print creatives for Teach For India.

• Developing a diverse design language and templates that are unique to platforms while keeping in mind the brand manual.

• Using visuals as a powerful medium for storytelling.

• Being a design custodian while ensuring that all touchpoints are in line with the creative vision and ensuring designs are consistent across all of our online and offline communications. We are very particular with our brand appearance and hence having a sharp eye to catch any such flaws is a must.

• Being very hands-on in experimenting with layouts, typography and the color palette regularly.

• Playing an active role in conceptualising, directing, executing, producing, and troubleshooting all aspects of design initiatives with the Consultant, Design.

• Illustrating ideas in various looks and styles, and quickly translating content into visuals. A knack for logo design is a big plus and highly appreciated!

• Managing the brand library and updating our website as and when required.

• Manage the Design Intern regularly and delegating day-to-day tasks.

As an Associate at Teach For India:

• Contributing to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities.

• Serving as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after commiting time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply.

• Supporting with key organizational areas such as Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, Movement Building.

Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations

• Graduate degree preferably in Communication Design.

• 1-2 years of design experience, agency experience.

• Exceptional skills in design for online and offline platforms with a passion for creativity.

• Good understanding of typography and editorial design.

• High proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Canva.

• Ability to work in an extremely high-paced deadline-based environment.

• Exceptional portfolio showcasing works related to all design principles.

• Basic understanding of print and vendor management.
