About Lumber

Lumber is transforming workforce, payroll, and HR management in construction, helping companies streamline operations, stay compliant, and improve worker engagement. As we rapidly scale, we’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to take our design system, user experience, and product vision to the next level.

This role is a blend of hands-on design and leadership, where you’ll collaborate with product and engineering while also guiding and mentoring junior designers in our Bangalore team. We believe in a high-energy, ownership-driven environment where experimentation is encouraged—you’ll have the autonomy to test new ideas and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

If you have experience in payroll, time tracking, scheduling, HR, benefits, AI, or construction tech, that’s a huge plus.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead End-to-End Design – Own UX/UI for core features, from research to final implementation.

  • Figma Expert – Drive component-based design systems, interactive prototypes, and smooth handoffs.

  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering – Work on product roadmaps, user stories, and technical feasibility.

  • Enhance Design Quality & Consistency – Maintain and improve our design system across web and mobile.

  • Mentor & Oversee Junior Designers – Provide feedback, guidance, and best practices to Bangalore’s design team.

  • Prototype & Test Ideas – Conduct usability testing and iterate quickly based on insights.

  • Improve UX in Construction & HR Tech – Simplify complex workflows like payroll, scheduling, and time tracking.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4–8 years of experience in UX/UI or Product Design, preferably in B2B SaaS.

  • Strong Figma skills – Master of auto-layout, components, prototyping, and design systems.

  • Collaboration with Product & Engineering – Can balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.

  • Experience with complex data-heavy apps – Payroll, HR tech, time tracking, or scheduling experience is a huge plus.

  • Strong communication & leadership skills – Comfortable mentoring junior designers and advocating for UX decisions.

  • Agile & Iterative Mindset – Ability to quickly adapt, experiment, and refine designs.

  • Bonus: Experience in AI-driven UX, fintech, construction, or workforce management platforms.

Why Join Us?

High-Impact Role – Your work will shape the UX/UI foundation of a growing platform.

Leadership Opportunity – Directly influence design strategy & mentor junior designers.

Ownership & Experimentation Encouraged – Test new ideas and drive innovation.

Fast-Paced Startup – Get the autonomy and responsibility to create and experiment.
