The Opportunity:
Position Title: High Jewelry Designer: Collection Based Contract
Engagement: Per Collection | Fixed Design Fee + Royalties
About us:
Venara creates heirlooms, not accessories. Rooted in sacred geometry, classical iconography, and mythic emotion, our jewelry is crafted in gold and platinum only—never silver. Each piece is built for permanence, set with lab-grown diamonds and rare gemstones, and designed to hold meaning beyond the visible.
What we are aiming for:
We are commissioning a high jewelry designer on a contract basis for specific collections. This is not an ongoing monthly role, but a project-based creative engagement tied to each new capsule or ceremonial series. You will be responsible for translating Venara’s conceptual direction into timeless, symbolic, and sculptural designs—executed in gouache and/or CAD.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize & Design Collection Pieces
Create high jewelry collections (4–8 designs per capsule) in platinum and gold, integrating lab-grown diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and pearls and other various minerals.
Gouache Renderings
Produce detailed gouache illustrations that capture volume, surface finish, stone play, and ornamental detailing with artistic precision.
Narrative Translation
Transform abstract brand narratives—mythology, ritual, lineage—into emotionally resonant forms, not decorative clichés.
CAD Collaboration
Provide production-ready technical guidance or coordinate with our CAD team to ensure feasibility and alignment.
Fabrication Support
Guide choices around setting style, articulation, weight balance, and mechanism design. Every detail must serve both beauty and longevity.
Collection Presentation
Deliver finished design files, story-based naming suggestions, and design notes that support the creative pitch of each collection.
Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 years of experience in fine or high jewelry design, with demonstrable collection work
Mastery in gouache rendering is essential
Understanding of precious metal behavior, gemstone constraints, and technical execution
Style sensibility: sculptural, symbolic, timeless; not trend-driven
Familiarity with CAD (Rhino/Matrix) preferred but not mandatory if gouache work is exemplary
Ability to deliver on tight deadlines while preserving artistic integrity
Engagement Terms
Contract per collection (scope agreed in advance)
Compensation includes fixed design fee + royalty on selected pieces that enter production
Confidentiality and exclusivity terms apply per project:
Creative credit given where applicable in internal brand archives, not public-facing unless agreed.
