The Opportunity:
House of Katachi is a contemporary design studio creating lighting and furniture through digital fabrication, material innovation, and craftsmanship. We believe products should be more than functional objects — they should tell stories through form, texture, and thoughtful design.
As we continue to expand our collections, we're looking for a Product Designer who enjoys experimenting with ideas, solving design challenges, and bringing products from concept to production.
What You'll Do
As a Product Designer, you'll be involved throughout the product development process — from early concepts and sketches to prototyping and production.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing original lighting and furniture collections
Developing concepts through sketches, CAD models, and prototypes
Creating production-ready 3D models and technical drawings
Collaborating with our production team to ensure manufacturability
Exploring materials, finishes, and construction methods
Iterating designs based on prototyping and testing
Researching trends, technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes
Participating in brainstorming sessions for new collections
Supporting product launches with design documentation and presentations
What We're Looking For
Proficiency in 3D software such as Rhino, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Blender, or similar
Strong visualization and product development skills
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and material behaviour
Ability to think both creatively and technically
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Preferred Skills
Experience with rendering software (KeyShot, V-Ray, Blender Cycles, etc.)
Knowledge of parametric modelling (Grasshopper is a plus)
Understanding of additive manufacturing / 3D printing
Experience creating technical drawings and production documentation
Interest in furniture, lighting, interior products, or industrial design
