House of Knots is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Rug Designer with a strong understanding of colour, composition, materials, and rug construction. The designer will work closely with our creative and production teams to develop original rug collections and customised designs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research design trends, crafts, materials, colours, and visual references.

2. Develop original rug concepts, sketches, and design variations.

3. Create moodboards, colour palettes, and design presentations.

4. Translate concepts into detailed digital rug artwork.

5. Prepare production-ready files, colour references, and specifications.

6. Develop customised rugs based on client briefs and spatial requirements.

7. Coordinate with the production team to ensure accurate design execution.

8. Review samples and recommend necessary design or colour corrections.

9. Organise design files, revisions, and client approvals.

10. Contribute to new collections and ongoing design development.

Skills Required

1. Strong understanding of colour, proportion, pattern, and composition.

2. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

3. Ability to prepare detailed, production-ready rug artwork.

4. Understanding of rug materials and construction techniques is preferred.

5. Strong research, presentation, and visual storytelling skills.

6. Good communication and attention to detail.

7. Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.

Qualification and Experience

1. Degree or diploma in Textile Design or a related design discipline.

2. Fresh graduates with a strong rug-design portfolio may apply.

3. Relevant experience in rugs or home furnishings will be an advantage.
