The Opportunity:

The role

We are looking for someone to lead the aesthetics of our first aircraft by translating an engineering-accurate model into a coherent exterior design language, brand identity, and presentation renders.

You’ll have the freedom to own the path from wireframe to hero visuals, shaping form, proportion, details, and CMF while balancing aerodynamic, structural, and manufacturing constraints.

You will work closely with aero, structures, manufacturing, and autonomy teams and deliver production‑aligned CAS surfaces and presentation assets.

What you’ll do

  • Define the aircraft’s exterior design language across fuselage, wing, empennage, nacelles, inlets, cooling, fairings, and signature lighting.

  • Establish proportions and sections, then generate 2D explorations and 3D CAS surfaces that can inform engineering and tooling.

  • Convert Sub‑D concept forms to Class‑A/NURBS surfaces ready for integration in CAD and manufacturing workflows.

  • Create high‑fidelity visuals and animations for team reviews, partners, and hiring.

  • Design cargo‑door geometry, hatches, access panels, and ground‑ops touchpoints with human‑factors awareness.

  • Run quick scale/proportion studies with constraints like prop diameter, landing gear, antennae, and sensor placements.

Iterate with aero and structures for drag, cooling flow, maintenance access, and manufacturability trade‑offs.

  • Own CMF direction, coatings, and livery that codify a distinct brand identity for an Indian aerospace OEM.

  • Produce drawing packs, section callouts, and surface specs that downstream teams can build, tool, or 3D‑print against.

  • Manage vendors for rapid mockups in foam/CNC/clay/3D print and evaluate finishes and coatings on test articles.

Must‑have qualifications

  • Strong interest in aviation / automotive

  • Portfolio demonstrating shipped or test‑flown transportation or aerospace programs, with clear role description and process.

  • Proven 2D sketching and 3D CAS surfacing skills in tools like Alias, Blender, Sub‑D, and NURBS workflows.

  • Rendering experience in Blender / other tools.

  • Comfort working alongside engineers, receiving constraints, and iterating quickly to make decisions.

Nice‑to‑haves

  • Experience on UAVs, GA aircraft, eVTOL, or motorsport bodywork with cooling and aerodynamic considerations.

  • Knowledge of CFD‑aware form development and designing for antenna placement and EMI/EMC considerations.

  • Familiarity with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Fusion for packaging checks and section control.

What success looks like (90 days)

  • A locked exterior design language with signed‑off proportions, sections, and hero views for the program.

  • A reviewable CAS model that integrates with CAD for structural and aero checks, plus an initial CMF/livery pack.

Even if you don't meet certain criterias, please feel free to apply! We love having people on our team who can learn quickly and create magic.
