The Opportunity:

Visual Designer

Design, Brand Systems & Social Media Creatives

Role Overview

We're looking for a Visual Designer who can translate ideas into compelling visuals across digital and print platforms.

You will work closely with the Creative Lead, Creative Producer / Copywriter, Illustrator, Video Specialists, and Founder to create cohesive campaigns for multiple brands.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving communication problems through design, is comfortable with feedback, and can work across different brand personalities. You should be able to design for social media, campaigns, pitch decks, brand visuals, digital ads, and basic marketing collateral.

We care more about your thinking than perfection. We would rather see a bold, well-reasoned idea with a clear process than a polished design with no explanation.

Show us how you observe, question, explore, and make decisions. If something is an assumption, say it. Real client briefs are rarely complete, and we value designers who can navigate ambiguity thoughtfully.

Since Offscene Studio is a startup, this role requires an all-hands-on-deck mindset. You may design social posts one day, work on a pitch deck the next, help with campaign references, assist with shoot moodboards, or prepare final artwork for delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media & Campaign Design

  • Design static social media posts, carousels, stories, reel covers, thumbnails, and ad creatives.

  • Translate campaign ideas into strong visual concepts.

  • Create designs that are mobile-first, readable, sharp, and scroll-stopping.

  • Work across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, WhatsApp, websites, digital ads, and other brand touchpoints.

  • Maintain consistency across each brand's visual identity.

  • Create repeatable content formats for client social calendars.

  • Make sure every creative has strong layout, hierarchy, typography, spacing, and visual clarity.

2. Brand & Visual Systems

  • Support the Creative Lead in developing visual systems for brands and campaigns.

  • Work with colour palettes, typography systems, graphic styles, image treatment, and layout rules.

  • Help create mini brand guidelines and social media design systems.

  • Adapt visual styles across different brands without making everything look the same.

  • Ensure that brand visuals feel consistent, intentional, and polished.

  • Help brands look sharper, more premium, and more trustworthy.

3. Pitch Decks & Presentation Design

  • Create presentation decks, pitch decks, campaign decks, proposal decks, and moodboard decks.

  • Turn rough ideas into clean, visually strong slides.

  • Work with the Creative Producer / Copywriter to present ideas clearly.

  • Design layouts that make concepts easy for clients to understand.

  • Help package Offscene's ideas in a way that feels premium and professional.

4. Digital & Print Collateral

  • Design marketing collateral, posters, brochures, flyers, brand assets, digital banners, and print-ready files.

  • Prepare production-ready files for digital and print.

  • Check sizes, formats, margins, bleeds, image quality, exports, and final file hygiene.

  • Maintain proper file organization and naming systems.

5. Collaboration & Creative Thinking

  • Collaborate with copywriters, video editors, illustrators, and the Creative Lead to develop campaigns.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute visual ideas.

  • Help convert scripts, concepts, and campaign lines into visual directions.

  • Build moodboards, references, design routes, and visual explorations.

  • Take feedback thoughtfully and improve designs without becoming defensive.

  • Ask the right questions when a brief is unclear.

6. Design Quality Control

  • Check typography, spacing, alignment, grammar on creatives, hierarchy, image treatment, and consistency.

  • Make sure work does not look rushed, cluttered, generic, or amateur.

  • Maintain design hygiene across all deliverables.

  • Review your own work before sending it to the Creative Lead or Founder.

  • Keep improving the visual quality of Offscene's work over time.

Required Skills

  1. Strong understanding of layout, typography, colour, composition, spacing, and visual hierarchy.

  2. Good visual taste and ability to work across multiple styles.

  3. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma.

  4. Ability to design for social media and digital platforms.

  5. Ability to create clean and professional presentation decks.

  6. Good understanding of brand identity and visual systems.

  7. Strong attention to detail and design hygiene.

  8. Good communication and presentation skills.

  9. Ability to explain design decisions clearly.

  10. Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly.

  11. Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

  12. AI-assisted design workflows used thoughtfully, not as a replacement for design thinking.
