Lakeside Residence Inspired by Nature's Poetry

How morning observations at Jakkur Lake shaped a home's flowing architectural language

Designer Leanne Alcasoas's (Studio Detailine) residential project along Jakkur Lake translates natural observation into architectural form. The design concept emerged during an early morning site visit, where pelicans creating ripples across the water inspired the home's flowing aesthetic and curved design language. We love a poetic start to a project.

The residence features curved edges throughout, creating seamless transitions between spaces while establishing visual dialogue with the lake's natural patterns. Fluted elements appear in varying proportions and textures across different rooms, echoing lakeside reeds while adding acoustic depth. Large openings strategically frame the landscape, allowing natural light to sculpt interior spaces throughout the day.

Alcasoas demonstrates sophisticated material coordination, positioning furniture as conversational elements rather than mere functional objects. Statement lighting, custom panels, and art pieces punctuate the flowing spaces effectively. The curved vocabulary creates visual cohesion while varied textures prevent monotony, showing strong understanding of how residential design can honor both client needs and environmental context.

Perhaps, what we like the most about this project is how it captures the peaceful rhythm of lakeside living through thoughtful details. The images, as you can see convey spaces that breathe with their environment, where the morning light on water translates into a home that feels both grounded in place and refined in execution. A strong thumbs up from us.
